My therapy work is going full steam. It is my absolute pleasure to work with creatives around issues of anxiety, burnout, depression, creative block, and more.
However, it has been a while since I posted on this blog.
Full disclosure:
-
- My husband and I are in the middle of moving. We sold our house and we are in a rental until our new house is built.
- I took a two-week vacation. It was a blast, and I fully recommend that you disengage from your work to recharge a couple of times a year.
- And now, it’s the holiday season!
- (Also, have I mentioned that I can be a slack-ass sometimes?)
My current “art studio” is the dining room in our rental unit. If I don’t keep up my creative endeavors, other parts of my life will suffer. Have you ever felt self-induced creative anxiety to make progress with your art? Whatever “progress” means? That was me for a bit.
So, my solution: these past weeks have been about just having fun in my sketchbook, and on smaller pieces of paper and wood. It relieved that sense of pressure I was feeling to make something “good”.
This temporary setup worked fine, but it will be great to have a dedicated art studio in our new house.
On this blog, I do want to show up consistently for you, in particular to write about creative anxiety. I’ll keep trying!
